Hoping to get away around 23 June for about a week. Thinking of up west IRL somewhere or possibly Isle of Man. Prefer somewhere with leisure centre & good restaurants locally (walking distance). Anyone got recomendations? Just me & the other half going.

I think you should juust go to spain or somthing because you could get a good last minute deal of alot of travel websites if you book it the start of june and you'll be guarnteed the really hot weather and the food and drink is alot cheaper.( price range for two people would be around €300-€500)

Would love to go foreign but will be doing that later in the year, unfortunately this time have to stay within few hours of home hence IRL. I do agree Spain/Canaries much cheaper and weather better. It's a shame really as a week here costs more than a couple of weeks away. As they say it'd be a great little country if we could put a roof on it !

Was in Isle of Man (Douglas) a couple of years ago for a long weekend and found that plenty. The railways are kind of nice if you like that sort of thing (my kids hated them!). But found it very difficult to find good places to eat. For that reason I definitely wouldn't go back for as long as a week.

I've heard that the Atlantic Coast Hotel in Westport is lovely. They have a leisure centre and Westport is good for restaurants.

I've stayed in the Lough Allen Hotel and Suites at Drumshanbo (Leitrim) a couple of times and enjoyed it. Nice restaurant in the hotel although it's a few minutes walk to Drumshanbo and not much there when you arrive. It's only fifteen minutes taxi to Carrick on Shannon and a few nice decent restaurants there. Highly recommend the spa in Lough Allen and the pool and outdoor hottub is nice too. Can't comment on the gym part - don't really do gyms!
