Looking at a midweek break and taking our 4 month old with us (not really a break so!). The best I've seen so far is the Dingle Skellig, what with the creche and pool. Long drive from Dublin though, any ideas or suggestions?

The days Hotel In galway is very family friendly.

Kellys in Rosslare is totally geared up for kids but they do know how to charge.

don't let the baby hold you back. Bring your sterisliser and you are sorted as long as you get a room with tea/coffee facilities. i brought a three month old to Florida and it was easy when I got organised. it is easy just be prepared. Get bottle insulators and powder dispensers, a flask for hot water and your sorted. if you want any more hint and tips Pm me . If you are organised it is not a problem one major hint get a mattress for a travel cot. No hotels have them and the baby sleeps much better with them. You can get them in smiths for about €20. if you are breastfeeding it is even easier.

Some years ago we stayed in what was then the Great Southern Hotel near Rosslare Harbour, and it was really popular with families. Friends of ours that were also staying there had their 1 1/2 year old twins being minded in the creche for a few hours every day, meant they could enjoy dinner on their own!

It's now called the St. Helen's Hotel, but from what I hear the facilities for families are as good as ever. Kids under 2 are free, they can arrange babysitting. Midweek specials at the moment are about €90 each for 2 nights and 1 dinner, and not much more for 3 nights.

As it's only a couple of hours drive from Dublin it might be an idea?

Have stayed at the Slieve Russell in Cavan before with young child and worked out well. Not too far from Dublin either, and there is a golf course and leisure centre all that stuff there too.
