Washing machine in shed

We have our washing machine out in the shed as it doesn't fit in the kitchen. Problem is, when its spinning its started moving around as there's nothing to anchor it down. If you put enough weight on it, it stops moving but I don't want to stand there holding it while it spins and it seems a bit dangerous to put something heavy on it. Is there any way to stop it bouncing around?

sitting on it does two jobs at the same time !!? useful for us multi-tasking women !

If memory serves me well some of the companies have something to stop the machine from spinning especially in light of the fact that some people stack the dryer on top of the washing machine.

You could make a call to the manufacturer and see if they have anything suitable. Check their website beforehand to see if there is a mention of it.

Just found some of the previous threads that gave me this info.

Perhaps a small wooden frame around the base of the machine would do the trick. Also, it might be worth checking that the carriage bolts have been removed.

does not sound right that it would move around - check that the legs have been adjusted so that the machine sits level on the floor - sometimes if the legs have not been adjusted correctly, machines tend to vibrate and move a little

Yup, adjust the legs so that it does not wobble. If the shed floor is not very solid then try putting in a few heavy paving slabs on the floow & get the machine to sit firmly on those (by adjusting the legs).

You would also need lock it down to a frame first. Then put "anti-vibration mounts" under each leg - these are used to stop fans vibrating in large airconditionining units.
