Please Help Me! My head is wrecked!! I am trying to think of a song from an ad break. (And i can't even think of what its advertising)

Scene: A man and a little girl sitting on a beach by a fire at night time. He's singing to her whilst playing an acoustic guitar and the camera pans upward to a starry sky.
I can hear the song in my head but its faint and when i try to 'hum' it to anybody they just start laughing! (Its a fantastic version of the song by the way)
Is this ringing any bells with anybody??

It's an acoustic version of Life On Mars by David Bowie for 3 (the mobile telephone company) if I'm not mistaken.

Its and add for 3mobile and its a david bowie track if its the one Im thinking off. Cant think of the name right now, but its from Ziggy Stadust I think.

Ill have to dust off the 12" tonight and find out cos its bothering me now!!

I think the ad is for 3 mobile or some other mobile network that offers free music downloading. I know the one you're on about but just can't remember how it goes. Hope this helps somewhat!

Sorry - post crossed with the last FOUR!!!!

Oh thank god. Just listened to the Bowie version of that song. The pain in my brain has gone!:)
Can you download the acoustic version from the ad anywhere? Seu Jorge sings it in portuguese but not in english, i think:confused:

Try the version by Scala or Jasper Steverlinck (itunes have about 40 different versions of this to listen to) - IMO - can't beat the Bowie live version - Michael Ball also has a version of it!

Speaking of David Bowie, I happened across this recently.

I remember watching it in black and white on Top of the Pops. As videos go it was years ahead of its time. You were posh in those days if you had a TV, never mind one with an unsightly dirty big aerial that could pick up BBC1 and HTV. Now people are complaining about sky dishes which are discreet in comparison.

RTE didn't start broadcasting until around 5.30 and Charles Mitchell used to read the News.
