anybody go with 3? they seem (along with meteor) to be by far the cheapest network operator. what is the catch? is their coverage dodgy?
are existing customers happy with the service?

cheers,

I've been told that they are inexpensive but they hit you with their really expensive handsets.

customer service is muck. Texting to someone abroad results in them receiving the same txt 50+ times (cue. one p'd off friend who has to pay to receive txts while roaming!!) Getting the phone unlocked costs money even after contract minimum period is up, additional SIM costs money unlike everyone else.
I bought a Moto V3x and had loadsa problems with it, cust service (scotland based) couldn't help or care.

Now with Meteor and no turning back....brilliant company!!

I have recently changed to three and so far so good texts are only 5c to all networks , have had no problems with coverage and phone cost 99 euro with 100 credit. :)

I believe 3 only do 12-month contracts. If you are unsure why not go with 'pay as you go' or 'ready to go' with one of the others?

3 have a ready to go service also.

I have noticed that there are reception issues lately. Problems receiving calls, making calls and sending txt's....

I've been with them for about 18 months now and have had no problems. Don't think their handsets are expensive. Tariffs are reasonable. Use Vodafone masts so signal is very good. Upgrades are extremely cheap. I have no intentions of going elsewhere.

I have travelled abroad with mine several times and haven't had this problem. And just for the record Moto V3X is a useless phone.

No, I mean texting someone who is abroad (friend away on holidays or with work) while you're at home.

It consistently happened and their only excuse was that it was the other providers fault as they didn't send 3 a 'message delivered' signal so 3 kept sending it.
When questioned, their response was that 'We're a new company' blah blah blah even though they've been here well over a year at the time.

I was with Eircell (088) then (087) then switched to Digifone(086) when they arrived and never had a problem txting abroad with them from day 1.

Valid reasons I can accept.....crappy excuses tho !!!

As for the Moto...yeah, piece of junk !
Moto = style over substance.
Never again.

3 did have a problem with sending texts to ppl who were abroad but that seems to have been fixed...well definitely when texting ppl in england...
and their excuse/reason is valid..if they don't get a valid msg delivered response from another carrier how are they to know that its delivered so they resend it...

I've been with them for bout 15 months now and my bills are much smaller than they've been with any other supplier..i've had no problems with signals etc..and re upgrades u are eligible in the 11th month of ur 12 month contract again far better than any other supplier....

and i have no link to 3 at all bar being a customer..and a very happy one at that...
