NTL Broadband and Vista

Got a new PC with Vista installed and the USB modem driver I got from NTL won't work with Vista. NTL support 'not sure' if they support Vista and checking into it.... and they're still checking into it a few weeks later.

Anyone else using NTL Broadband and get it to work with Vista?

thanks

I'm waiting for my free Dell upgrade to Vista. Must check with Smart Telecom.

Don't NTL offer a modem with an ethernet connection? If your modem is dual USB/Ethernet just buy a network cable as its almost certain a new PC with Vista has an ethernet port and this method of connection should work independent of any operating system. If your modem only has USB perhaps it is an older model and you can get a newer model with ethernet from NTL.

I think this issue surfaced in the UK a while ago, NTL there (not the same as NTL here) were able to tell people how to configure manually. The problem was just that their install disc was not Vista compatible.

But, I think it's way too soon for people to be gettig Vista, there's a lot of unsupported hardware out there.

As was sadi pick up a network cable and attach that way instead.

Probably one in the box the router came in.

Are you runinng 32 bit or 64 bit.

Still some 64 bit problems with drivers.

Thanks! Bought a network cable and it worked first time. Fantastic. I only can despair at NTL broadband 'support' who, 3 weeks later, still don't know how to solve the problem, scratching their heads muttering something about 'problems with vista'. I'll let them know!
