Parasite in Galway water supply

Hasn't actually been confirmed but notices have been issued to boil all drinking water. Think I heard samples were being sent to Scotland for further tests. Anyone know when we will have some answers ?

Saw one shop on Friday with notice telling customers that "boiling will not necessarily make it safe".
Funnilly enough they were also selling bottled water.

Am living in Meath area and we had a similar scare about a year ago. Cant remember exactly what was suspected of being in the water but I am taking no chances. Am using bottled water the whole time now. Unfortunately these things are kept quiet for as long as at all possible to avoid panic. By the time it is officially announced God alone knows how long we have been consuming the water for.

Ehem... I thought that this has been in the News since about Friday [broken link removed] and today is Monday. I hope that you were drinking something other than Galway water over the weekend
