Dell Junk Mailing

Hi All,
I'm getting Dell junk mail for years and I've tried to stop them sending it numerous times using the website they recommend for unsubscribing. Today I got two in the post... Any idea what I do apart from heading out to Bray or whatever with a baseball bat ( ;-) ) ?

The technique they suggest is to post unsubscribe with the mailing reference to dellie@dawleys.com. No matter how often I do this it never works and I get the new junk every month...

Email the Data Protection Commissioner’s office. I had this problem for years too and I even had a contact name in Dell who assured me a number of times that she had removed my name from all marketing databases yet the stuff still kept coming. It took a few months even with the Data Protection Commissioner’s office. The reply I got from them suggested I was not alone. If you like I can pm you the email this evening.

Emailing the address mentioned on the junk mail eventually worked for me anyway.

Why not put the junk mail in an envelope and send it back (without a stamp!) - AFAIK, Dell should be charged for the unstamped mail and if enough people do it, things might change!!

You might be able to kill multiple birds with one stone by registering on the [broken link removed]. Dell are a member of the IDMA, and should therefore be scrubbing all their lists to eliminate anyone who has signed up for the MPS.

Thanks for that handy link, RainyDay. The downloadable form doesn't seem to be working at the moment(?), but I've emailed them to request a copy. [Edit: Promptly received, 20 mins later. Fair play...]

It's a pity their brief doesn't extend to 'direct marketing' by political parties/election candidates... ;)
