Can anyone tell me what airlines fly to Boston so I can look them up for the cheapest flights. The dates I am looking at are 28Jun-2Jul, high season I know. I have a €689pp price from Aer Lingus but that seems high.

Aer Lingus and American Airlines fly to Boston from Ireland. There is usually a charter flight to Boston from Ireland during the peak summer months - I think American Holidays operates this charter flight - I flew on it in 2005 and it was fine - a lot cheaper that scheduled services - worth checking out.

Flyglobespan.com are starting flights to Boston from Knock airport in May or June. (Don't forget to add on your ten euro per person fee to depart from Knock - the "development charge").

Ireland West Airport Knock is delighted to announce today, the introduction of Ireland’s first scheduled transatlantic services with a low cost carrier. flyglobespan will operate three services a week from Ireland West Airport Knock, to JFK Airport New York, commencing on May 27th, 2007 and two services weekly to Boston Logan International Airport, commencing on May 30th 2007. Seat fares on the transatlantic flights from Ireland West Airport Knock will start at just €157 plus tax each way.

Flights to JFK will depart from Ireland West Knock on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 14:30, while flights from JFK will arrive into Ireland West Knock at 07:20 hours on Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays. Flights to Boston will depart Ireland West Knock on Wednesdays and Sundays at 16:30, while flights from Boston will arrive at 07:45 hours on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Does anyone know if you can clear US immigration in Knock Airport? No mention of it among all the waffle on the link provided by DrM. If not, I think this will be a considerable disadvantage, particularly during the busy summer months, compared to Dublin or Shannon.

I know, the mutual back-slapping doesn't leave much room for useful information...

I've just emailed to ask.
We apologise for any questions that were recently submitted but did not receive a reply as we were experiencing technical difficulties. [Edit: :(]

This has been fixed so please fill out the following details, and we will deal with your query as soon as possible.
Alternatively, you can email us at info@irelandwestairport.com or phone us at 1850 67 22 22 from Ireland or +353 94 9368100 from outside Ireland.

[Update: They've confirmed that 'all immigration checks and clearance will be carried out in the USA, not Ireland West
Airport Knock'. Bit of a downside, all right...]
