Honest barman alert!

I was at a concert at the Ambassador in Dublin recently and got a pint at the upstairs bar, and walked a over the other side of the balcony and after a few minutes the barman tapped me on the shoulder and handed me €15. It appears that due to the dim light (and possibly my previous libations) I'd confused a 20 for a fiver. Fair play to the fella, I think such honesty is increasingly rare in our lovely city!

I've had many similar experiences. I've just about always found bar people to be an honest bunch. I don't think you'd last long in a cash business if you weren't. That's not to say that the price of the pint isn't daylight robbery ...

A friend of mine always counts his change (I don't usually) He often finds that he has been shortchanged by 20c or 50c, particularly late at night in busy bars when ordering more than one drink.

Yes I too know of a hotel owner who short changed his customers. He is no longer in the business. I wonder why!!!

I was gong thro the M4 toll with a Czech work colleague, he was driving.
He paid the local cashier who handed him change. He, unlike me, was very quick to check his change realised he had been left short and corrected her.
To me, her reaction was one of just caught rapid!
He remarked that she had heard his accent and deceided to chance his arm.
It happens to him often! By Irish........

What are posters suggesting? Is it the profession or the national who tend to be dishonest?
