Did anyone see Take That on The Late Late on Friday...

I thought they were very good but was wondering if they were actually singing live ?? sounded very like the record...

The first song (Patience) was definitely mimed, not that proof was needed, but Gaz Barlow's occasionally out-of-sync miming provided it.

Second song? Little Mark's singing seemed live (ie it was generally out of tune :) ), but the music was a backing track.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I'd rank Patience up there with the finest pop tunes I've stumbled across.
 
Agree about patience...its a great song but disappointing that they had to mime......have never heard them live so maybe they are not that good....

They did that ITV tribute programme entirely live and they were.......... astoundingly excellent. It might have been the Late Late's decision to have them mime Patience, for whatever technical reasons, but from what I know this lot can actually sing, unlike some other grown up boy bands I won't mention ;)
 
I wouldnt say I'm a fan but they do have a few nice tunes at the moment.
 
I obviously cant spot a mime...genuinely thought it was live and sounded great. Who was the girl on later in the show, she sang an italian song or soemthing? she was fantastic!
 
The Late Late has a lot of Mimers I say. I dont watch regularly, but every time I do the music act is miming. Recent eg, Shayne Ward.

I thought that was their general approach ? Unless the artist in question was dead set against it ?
 
only seen the second song "shine", it was mimed from start to finish, vocals and tracks. Havent seen them live since the old days, but they did play live at the point gigs, have to say, not really my thing musically (work called for me to be at the gigs) but definitely put on one of the best shows Ive seen in the point.

There was another band on later (long haired singer) and they were live.

Think that was Duke Special (was that the same show??), loved the song he played, but can't remember the darn name of it.

Fairly sure Little Mark was singing live on the second song (although everything else, backing track and vocals, was recorded) - as I previously alleged, he was so out of tune for most of the song surely it couldn't have been a recorded version?
