Does anyone know where I could rent a paint sprayer? I have a whole house interior to paint so am thinking roller/brush may take too much time.

Thanks

Not the sort of thing you would use inside unless it's a new house and it's empty (completly). if you're going to use emulsion get an airless paint sprayer (most good hire shops will have one). Please note that you will some serious Breathing Aparatus for a job like that as it's indoors and make sure there is nobody else in the room with you (they won't hang around when you start. I honestly think you will be creating work for yourself as the amount of masking off / preperation etc.. you will have to do will be huge.

hi

I used a HVLP sprayer indoors --- this pushes much less air around than a compressor based system. I bought this system (about 250euro) as I have a lot of indoor and outdoor painting to do...

You will need a good (3M) mask with a few filters

Bear in mind that the paint needs to be thinned before spraying and therefore more coats are needed

the finish is superb - much better than roller...

Most of the work on an interior job is in the woodwork...it takes a fair bit of practice and knowhow to become adept at spraying oil based finishes. The covering off and taping up is very important. For the Diy er the traditional route is the sound choice.

We hired ours from Sam Hire... Very messy mind but managed to paint the whole inside 2600 sq ft, double coat in one weekend....

I also managed to spray our house in a weekend. Herself was mixing and refilling the bucket under the sprayer, and I did the spraying. Spent a week before masking off the entire area (windows, doors etc.)

Lesson Learned: Check with your plasterer to see what type of corner beading he used. There are plastic or metal ones. Our guy used the plastic ones outside and the metal ones inside. Two weeks after spraying, every corner in the house began to rust - water based paint on metal!. We found out later that we should have painted every corner with an oil based undercoat - then followed on top of that with the spraying
