I have just moved into an unfurnished apartment. Does anyone know any cheap shops in the Dublin/Leinster area where one could purchase bed linen, kitchen appliances etc at low cost. Also I am hoping to get wireless broadband but do not have a phone line. Anyone know of obtaining cheap broadband

Thank you in advance

kitchen appliances, try DID or Power City. DID after sales better than Power City. Small appliances eg toaster, kettle etc Dunnes or Argos do
a pack of 2 or 3, check this out. Bed Linen Guineys in Nr. Earl Street, Frawleys Thomas St., Dunnes, also a store , cant remember the name, Homewares or something like that, Belgard Retail Park, close to B&Q.
TK Max is good also for bed linen. the branch in Blanchardstown is big so more choice. After that check out the specials in Dunnes, and a really great one is Arnotts bargain basement. Good luck

Dunnes is not bad, have a look at the one on George's st. Try not to go too cheap on everything, you'll pay double in the long run. Meadows and Byrne had reasonably priced couches when we were looking, ended up going the Ikea route for a lot of things.

I think bothered has more or less covered it. I'd just add that if you're going to DID for kitchen appliances and if you're getting a lot from them, do ask what discount they can give. They'll often knock a bit off if you're getting quite a few things.

TKMax in Blanch is great for good quality accessories - lamps, lampshades, bed linen, kitchen utensils, mats/rugs etc.

I moved into my apt 6 mnths ago and found Powercity to be the cheapest re white goods. I bought all beko and have had no problems. Try Chadwickes for wooden floors (if you want them), euros cheaper than other suppliers. I order all my furniture (beds, mattresses couch, etc.) from Ikea in Edinburgh and got fantastic looking furniture 4 weeks later at half the price of getting it here.

Best of luck!!!

This is great thank you so much to everyone for their post. The weekend will be a busy one with shopping ;-)

Bothered, what did you mean by Dunnes or Argos do
a pack of 2 or 3 i.e. in relation to kettles etc. Is it a 3 for 2 offer...........wow!!!!

Arnotts Bargain Stores (basement of their Henry Street store and also a separate outlet on Middle Abbey Street) is the business for home furnishing bits and pieces at knock down prices.

the pack that Dunnes/Argos sometimes do are like matching kettle and toaster, maybe sandwich toaster. Argos also have kitchen starter packs where you get stuff like cutlery, saucepans, etc..

The quality may not be fab but it'll give you an idea of what you do wnat/need and what just takes up space.

Tesco also have a good range of house stuff.
