Any experiences, good or bad, of this car? I know that there aren't many of them about. I've just test driven the 1.3l 192bhp version and it was a lovely drive with great power. I do about 15k miles a year. Its a pricey option at just under 40k but have no kids etc so its now or never!

Yeah the tax is ridiculous but by all accounts a great car. Saw it on Top Gear too last Sunday in a three way drive off v Audi TT and Alfa Brera. I'm sure theres some info on their website.

The car gets great reviews but is supposed to 'Drink like Oliver Reed'.
What colour were you thinking of going for ?

Good luck if you do go for it.

Thanks, will check out the tax, as the dealer tried to tell me it was taxed as 1.7l...there's a surprise! Will check out Top Gear site too, any idea which car came out on top Goggin?

None.
They all agreed the Alfa is the one they would buy, but also admitted they would never suggest it to a friend to buy.

The Mazda was top in pure performance terms (Alfa and TT both more for show than performance).

Where would I get a reliable answer to the tax question? Cartax.ie website doesn't list the make of car, only the engine size.

Have a look at the tax disc of a used example, that would be the surest way

Hi,

I can reliably inform you (based on personal experience) that the RX-8 is taxed as a 1.8

Hi mobileme / marble.

I want one too, bit cheeky, but how are you financing this purchase, 40k is a lot but then again I'm sure you're worth it :p

I know Mazda are doing a gimick of 50% down now with 50% due in Aug but if they were to do a 0% finance then we would be talking..

Thanks
Paulski
