Hi All,

Can anyone recommend any places in Dublin that sell canvas paintings?

Cheers.

Depends what you are looking for - merrion square on a saturday morning is full of artists displaying their work on the railings.

I bought some blank canvas and some paint. Great fun creating your own paintings plus nobody else will ever have the same ones!!

My sister in law did that to spruce up an apartment that she was selling a while back. She decided in the end to keep them after the apartment was sold. I thought they looked nice and had a bit more character than just buying something. I'm probably a philistine though. ;)

what are you looking for - abstract or traditional?
what kind of size?

Thanks for the replies,

Im looking for a long rectangular one (roughly 5ft by 1ft)
and a less narrow one (roughly 3ft by 4ft).

As for abstract or traditional, I dont know what this means but im just looking for nice colourful paintings to brighten up the walls ie. the girlfriend wants one of them to be a painting of a flower.

I must check out Merrion Square.

Cheers.

It may only be from May to September.Check with Dublin Tourism. I've often visited and bought a painting or two, but only ever visited on Sundays. Lots of variety on display.

Rambo, the merrion square artists are there every sunday from around mid day til evening... there's loads on offer and if you want to commision an artist for a particular size painting thats possible too, as far as i know. Definitely worth a look.
