Sky+ Remote - How to remove battery cover?

I had being getting the low battery warning on my Sky+ remote for months and I figure it's going to die soon but .... I can't take the battery cover off! No matter what way I pull or push it, it just doesn't budge

I'm sure it's very simple, but I haven't managed to figure it out yet.

Any directions for anyone?

Push the tab towards the cover and pull it out, are you serious that you can't open it?
 
By any chance did some smartarse superglue the cover? All sky remotes are the same and thats how I open my one.
 
Had the exact same problem last week with mine. Actually broke the little clip taking it off. At it for ages!!
 
changed the battery in mine yesterday,
its so easy,somebody has messed up yours for sure
because a child would open it otherwise.

it is actually difficult to remove.

Push the release tab in the direction of the small arrow and then grab the full housing by the sides and pull it off it wont fall away like most remotes . Took me days to figure it out.
 
Broought it into work today and get one of the lads to open it for me. It did require brute force by him so I didn't feel too bad. thanks for your help.

p.s. to the posters that say it's simple, I feel that maybe you are referring to the sky remote and not the sky+ remote that has a different casing? maybe not

Blinder - you are dead right. The Sky+ remotes are a right PITA to change the batteries on (and my hubby sells them for a living... he should know!!)

If anyone else has the same problem and comes across this thread, HighFliers description of how to remove the cover is spot on
