Laser Color Printer

I am looking for an office color laser printer, that is not too expensive to buy and run. I have always had a high opinion of HP, and would therefore not be averse to a recomendation in that direction. However, if there is another printer (Oki maybe) that is of similar quality, cheaper to by & run, thet I am not proud.

Not interested in multi function kit.
Speed not an issue, can be as slow as it likes.
Relatively low throughput
Will be used for printing presentations etc so quality must be good.

Thanks.

The following may be of some interest:
I have been using an HP B&W laser for years, very civilised machine, just sits there silently and prints when asked to.
So I bought an HP 2820 multifunction colour laser for about 750 plus VAT.
It's a big heavy very noisy bugger which goes through a calibration routine every 15 minutes or so and sounds like a washing machine on half load.
It uses 4 colour cartridges which cost about 110 plus VAT each.
When they run out I'll be changing to an inkjet.
I suspect the straight colour laser may be as bad.
And of course the HP software isn't great either.

xerox do a range of printers from just over a grand but are on a copier like contract ie you ay a low cost per page, about a cent mono and 14 cent colour and you get all toners service and parts included, so you can use colour on the whole page for a fraction of the cost of a normal laser printer

email garrett@digidox.ie for more info if you like

good luck

This is the sort of item that can be bought second hand very cheaply; Try Ebay.

I'd advise against buying a Dell printer. The running costs are astronomical!

There's a good review of printers at www.cnet.com

They also list the top 5 most popular.

Avoid the hp2600 color laserjet - very expensive to run.
