London - Oz; by Bus

That looks really great ! What a trip. I'm far from a gap-yr student but it would really appeal to me.

Oh to have 12 weeks off work to go !

Fionn Davenport interviewed the bloke running this on Newstalk's [broken link removed] slot but it wasn't a great interview in my opinion. It might be available as a [broken link removed] on their website.

That looks fantastic... though imagine if you didn't get on with the people onthe bus.... and you'd be very sick of the site of that bus after 12 weeks!

But at least the site of the bus keeps changing as it moves eastwards.

True but as a man who has sat on a long bus trip from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro on one of the BEST buses (free video's, recliner chairs, complimentary whiskey) i can tell you that cabin fever sinks in no matter what the views are outside.

Some friends travelled overland from London to Oz with a group some years ago when it went through Afghanistan and they said it was brilliant, very laid back. I don't think they paid quite that much though. There is a similar concept in the US with Green Tortoise www.greentortoise.com for the more time and cash poor. Not for the faint hearted though. Personally I'd be buying a RTW business class ticket instead.
