Hey,
After multiple suggestions by Sandra (the utility not the/a girl) I thought I'd look into this. I've never investigated or attempted a BIOS update before so thought I'd check out some of the pros/cons in advance. Having flicked around the net for a while I thought I'd also throw up a post on here and gain from the knowledge of the AAM techies.
Should a Bios be updated regularly on most systems? (from the warning on Sandra they seem to suggest that 3 years is out of date, should a BIOS be updated frequently - annually? more/less? [my own is running on a Bios from 25/6/2003)
Should a Bios be updated at all by a regular user? (I'm still unsure what benefits it will provide or problems it will cure. Everything that the Bios is meant to control is working just fine so should it be tinkered with at all)
Is there an easy way of ensuring it's the right update? (I assumed it'd be a simple task of going to the Samsung website and checking the system I'm running to see if any updates are available, how wrong I was. Currently using a Samsung Aquila Slim Platform Notebook ([broken link removed] similiar as detailed here, though my Bios is dated 25/6/2003 re Sandra).
Is it a case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it or should this be done?
Any other advice/comments appreciated.
