hi all, i am just after getting a quote for an old house' heating installation, i am just wondering if it seems too high to u.

eg: house is a 2 bed, small sitting room, small lounge, small kitchen, a tiny shower room and a toilet room, what is needed is 7 radiators, boiler, oil tank, copper cylinder, water tank for attic, immersion and all the pipes and fitting etc.

the price we were just quoted is 8,ooo. do you think this is ok

thanks for any help

hi again, i have asked around and everyone seems to think its very expensive

could somebody tell me how much u recon the cost should be

thank you

hpw long is a piece of string, get more quotes but ask what boiler am i getting, waht type rads, how much copper pipe, is it going under the floors, how big is the immersion tank, what about controls?

8.000 could be for top of the range stuff,

eg are u getting a condensing boiler?

noah

Paid €4500 for same installation, it wasnt a condensing boiler as we were advised against it as the house was too small. Rads were manufactured by quinn but have no idea of a spec.

Can only give you the guys name to get a quote if you want?

I would have said between €4.5 to €5.5 depending on spec. For this I'd expect all builder's work included (making good to floors/ walls etc.) all pipework insulated, TRVs on all rads, factory insulated cylinder with quick recovery and 3 port bypass valve arrangement on the primary circuit. I am presuming that no works are required in terms of the (existing) shower and bathroom?

hi all, thanks for the replies, we had put 5,500 away to do this job and got an awful shock when he came back with 8000. also most of the pipework will be overground if that makes any difference and my husband has to do the clean up afterwards.
