Blocked loo?

Apologies beforehand to the squeamish...

Had a severely blocked loo for the past 2 weeks - was awy for one of those and sort of hoped it would sort itself out.

I've drained it (yuk) and used Drainex and another unblocker 4 times now. The water is finally clear but still not draining to the proper leverl, still a little high.

The culprit I think was someone threw a fistful of baby wipes down it but I think most of that is out now.

Will it settle eventually or should I continue with the unblockers? Are they harmful to the enamel?

Anyone any magic 'loo unblocking' solutions?

PS The plunger was useless!
 
get a plumber mam, u don't want it flush back out...u already trIed the drainex and stuff..rime to hand that over to the plumber
 
Get a sani-snake (hardware stores) Push it down and wiggle it around. Works a treat. Its basically a long flexible steel cable. Check in your manhole outside. The blockage may have gotten stuck there
 
Thanks Colin..off to Woodies so.
Its only one loo, other 2 are fine so the blockage mightn't be in the manhole...would that be right?

I'm trying to avoid paying huge sum to a plumber for something I might be able to do myself, plus really hard to find one and know what the correct charge would be for a job like this.
 
I got a liquid thing in Woodies - Plumbers Mate - Its an acid based solution so you need safety stuff (read the bottle first).
Need a tube and funnel I used a piece of hose.
Worked a treat.
