Where

Where would i get an Ipod charger which shops sells them? i have the one that hooks up to the computer but can only charge it when i am in work.

any of the 3G stores sell them, also you might try the back of the spectra photo shop bottom of grafton st. they (used to) have an apple store in there.....not sure if it still there

couple of places up in Dundrum shopping centre have them. you would pick up a generic one on ebay and the like.

Huge number of stores carrying this sort of equipment now. HMV and the likes, most electronic shops, a huge number of them. Can be pretty expensive though so could be better to search for cheaper options online.
(A friend picked up a hi-fi with a USB port [similiar to charging from your PC but no PC/laptop needed] for a little over the cost of the AC charger - you don't get portability but you can hook the iPod up to the hi-fi as a set of speakers with some basic cables)

thanks. Cant check online because i am going away the weekend and want to bring it with me so ill check the shops suggested on grafton street.

If you mean USB chargers that plug into a mains socket then see here.
Due to the iPod having a non standard connection (it isn't a mini USB - well, at least my iPod Nano isn't, can't say I know for sure on the other models [they replaced the standard mini USB with a much wider connection at the base of the unit, one of my biggest gripes about it]), a specific iPod charger is needed. Should be handy to pick one up on Grafton St. or anywhere around town, but not sure of the best value.

(I'd suggest it may be possible to get some sort of adapter for the iPod connection to allow charging with a mini USB/other cable, but I havn't come across one)

If you can wait a few weeks for delivery from Hong Kong, you can buy USB to Dock Connector cables very cheaply on [broken link removed].

You can then buy one of the power to USB devices which Clubman spoke of if you need to charge it at home.

Incidentally, the iPod Shuffle has is an actual USB connection although it is not rated at full USB 2.0 speeds.

I bought a Shuffle recently and have been charging it via a 2.0 USB port. Although it seems to charge up okay, the light always remains orange when according to the spec it should change to green when fully charged. Am I missing something or is the port?
