looking for a place where a group of people with two veggies can have more than one choice on the menu. This would be for a comfortable evening meal so cornucopia or the hare krishna places wouldn't fit the bill. Doesn't need to be exclusively veggie anyway, there will be steak lovers present.

I would normally recommend the 101 Talbot because they do a good mix of meat and vegetarian dishes but the last time I was there a few weeks ago I wasn't that impressed by the food I'm afraid.

Darwins on Aungier St. have a vegetarian menu in addition to the usual menu. Top class restaurant and not too expensive, have been a few times and never disappointed.

Juice on georges street is nice, more a daytime place maybe though?
My favorite at the moment is the Cedar tree lebanese just on the crossroads in the middle of exchequer street- fantastic!

Any Indian restuarant is great for veggies. Speaking as a long time veggie I find Juice to have very bland food so would definitely give it a miss. Any Italian restaurant usually has a good selection too.

I was pretty unimpressd with Juice, both for quality and price. Indian is good, the Moroccan on Wicklow Street is a good alternative if you don't want Indian - loads of tagines and stuff for vegetarians and good meat optoins too.
Red Berry on South Great Georges Street if it's open.

A very good place for veggie food is CORNUCOPIA. Not really a "restaurant" but good athmosphere and very good food.

I second the Cedar Tree recommendation. Great/interesting menu for veggies and plenty of good meat dishes for carnivores. On top of that the staff there are really nice and service is good.

the pearl brasserie on baggot street/merrion st has a separate veggie menu and i had a delicious lunch there a few weeks ago. if you really want to push the boat out l'ecrivain also have a veggie menu. Sinners on Parliament Street is another Middle Eastern restaurant and they have loads of veggie options too. Off topic I know but I wish Denis Cotter would open up a Cafe Paradiso in Dublin, he's a genius.

Thanks that's loads of options. Personally I heard a lot about talbot 101 and the cedar tree before I went and I didn't see what was so great about them. Had considered the indian option, hadn't thought of the moroccan place, will look into Darwins, I like the name, failing that the pearl sounds good too. L'ecrivian I will keep on file as a special occasion option.
Ta everyone.

Monty's of Kathmandu in Temple Bar is veggie friendly as well. Unfortunately you will be restricted to mostly Asian and Middle Eastern restaurants and have to exclude almost all French restaurants.
L'Ecrivan would not be great for vegetarians, not for choice but rather value. But the same goes for chicken eaters I guess as well.

was in monty's before, that was a lovely evening not a cheap option though maybe we ordered a lot, we did splash out.

The Morrocan place , can't remember name but it's where the Alpha Cafe used to be , would be a more economic option than Monty's. it's a good place for a crowd as it is divided into rooms so you might get your own area. I might be biased though as I love lamb tagines and the like. I can't think of the name for the life of me but I think they have a website.

If you mean the one on South William Street then based on my one experience there soon after it opened I personally would certainly not recommend it. Monty's was a lot better than it in my experience.

El Bahia? I don't know where Alpha Cafe was but El Bahia is near the Cedar Tree restaurant.
