Does anyone know how many cars someone can bring into the country (Ireland) without paying VRT.
I am working some of the tiome in Ireland and some of the time in the UK. I want to bring 1 car home to Ireland and have it registered here but in the long term I plan to move back to Ireland in the next 12 months so I will need to bring in a second car.
Are there any implications on this?

For it to be VRT exempt you must have it in the UK for six months and then registered in Ireland for 12 months before resale (if sold before this a clawback will apply). No obvious mention on the site of a number of cars allowed, I would have presumed* that if you have two vehicles registered in the UK then you would be allowed to bring both to Ireland (if both meet the requirements, then both would be VRT exempt. Proof of qualification would be needed [vehicle registration form from the UK, insurance documents from the UK etc.]).
