Stratford College, Rathgar

Does anyone have any information/recommendatations for this school? I was considering it as an option for my daughters secondary education. My family do not belong to any church and would describe themselves as agnostic. Thanks

You probably know already that Statford is a jewish school. They accept kids from all denomination but they dont have to participate in religious lessons. My sister went there for 3 years and as a catholic she and the other christian children had their own religion classes. She learned alot about jewish culture and a bit of hebrew while there and she enjoyed it. They also have some unusual (well it was 15 years ago) classes, such as greek and roman studies which isnt usually offerred as a leaving cert subject and spanish which also wasnt the run-of-the-mill subject back then. She also learned calligraphy as a 4th year subject.

The only negative thing (if you can call it negative) was that it is very much a jewish school and all things are geared towards that faith and culture so as a non-religious family your child will be exposed to religion, it is unavoidable but not necessarily a bad thing.
