Hi...

I have my driving test in 4 weeks, this has been outsourced to citywest now. Does anyone know how i would find out the route.

Also can someone recommend a good driving instructor for Pre Tests.

Why do you need to know the routes? The purpose of the driving test is to show you can drive according to the rules of the road anywhere not just on routes for the driving test.

Find the driving instructor and he/she will know the routes.
Sorry I cant help you finding the instructor.

Megan,. pretests tend to be a different format to "normal" lessons, with the instructor remaining silent and instructing the student on the route.

As for your comment about the purpose of the driving test, that's a little unhelpful IMO. Yes, the same rules apply no matter where you're driving, but it does help to not be worrying about where you need to turn and be able to concentrate on the technical aspects.

I find it hard being given directions around a strange area, and I'm an experienced driver. For a learner who's already stressed, inexperienced (maybe) and concentrating on technical points, surely it's a benefit driving the route first.
 
Sorry if I sounded hard on you Kelb28. My point is if you know where you are doing your test you would spend some time driving around that area. I have noticed you say your test was outsourced to city west. Does this mean you applied to do your test at some other test centre and was then given a date in city west. Can you not insist on getting the centre you asked for I know it might mean having to wait longer to get a date.

Not to worry Megan... I applied bigining of Nov last year to Tallaght but they've outsourced to different places due to the ridiculous waiting lists, as my address is Citywest they have giving me that test centre, it doesn't bother me been in citywest or the other side of Tallght because i am familiar with both area's, but i'd prefere to know the dif routes to practice a bit - you know how strict they are!
