Ballymun Road Road works!

Any one else have to endure this poorly planned mess.

1. The signage just before the bus stop indicates that the outside 2 lanes are closed ahead, causing traffic to attempt to merge to the bus lane. After this happens a bus often will stop, blocking the whole bus lane as they do.
Only traffic in the middle lane that did not attempt to merge can now pass through the samll gap left in front of the bus. All the vehicles obeying the signage are left stuck causing tailbacks and aggravation while the bus loads.
2. At the point above in the road works, when a bus stops, all traffic must try and squeeze through the small gap ( sometimes not big enogh for larger vehicles ) left between the stopped bus and the excavation fencing at this point.
3. The danger to cars and the bus alike not to mention the chronic disruption to flow above could greatly be alleviated by the relocation of the bus stop. The proposed location is where the full 3 lanes open out again giving ample and safe opportunity for cars to make progress and allow the bus driver pull in and out in a "normal" bus lane without traffic cutting across.

Is this a tricky bit of coordination and logistical mastery between Fingal Co Co and Dublin Bus.
I put the above to both parties...watch this space for explanation......

Why did they not do the work during the summer? and that damm road been dug up countless times over the last few years. Pity we don't have a Minister living in north county Dublin instead of our current crop of lightweights.

I was thinking the exact same thing. All duding the school holidays there were no rodd works on this road. Come 1st September they clos 2 lanes.
Have the corporation or BRL got no cop on?

I Got A Call Back From Dcc After Going T Fingal Who Bounced Me To Dcc Who Bounced Me To Brl Then I Got Back On To Dcc Aggresively Who Then Called Me The Very Day...

It Was Like A Revelation To The Woman Who Called Me When I Explained That The Bus Stop Could Be Temporarily Moved To Where There Are 3 Lanes Just Down The Road, Hence Reducing Teh Congestion In This Little Bottleneck!

There was a major car crash in the Shanliss estate that is used as an alterantive rat run to the Ballymun Road. This is Increasingly the case as the 3 lane Ballymun road does not move any more during rush hour due to badly organised works.

3 cars involved and fire brigade with cutting equipment. Possible the cars were avoiding the Ballymun road as 2 of them were heading back to join up with it the other side of the works!

The accident looked very bad and the car coming from the T junction seemed to be hit by 2 oncoming cars from each direction from thr road it was joining. This is a housing estate!
