Im about to pruchase a dell laptop. I do a lot of photography and will use it primarily for this and net surfing.

Should I get the standard widescreen (w) XGA or upgrade to the ultra sharp widescreen SGA with true life???? or is there any need? Will it make a difference to the viewing of the internet etc?

Also would going for a smaller scereen size 14.1" rather than 15.4" make a difference to image and viewing quality?

I've just got my first laptop, a Dell Inspirion. I upgraded to widescreen with True life and am delighted. The True life seems to make for a much better picture quality compared to a standard LCD screen. Only thing is; True Life makes the screen VERY reflective like a mirror, so it's hard to see in bright light.

If True Life is like Sony's XBrite then I would certainly recommend it - excellent quality although very shiny/reflective as CG says.

thanks for that guys. Im unlikely to be using it outdoors very much so will probably go with the upgrade I reckon. Not much more expensive anyway. So indoor use on a desk it makes no real difference to your viewing, negatively i mean. It doesnt make the text harder to see or anything?

CG what screen size you go for???

So would ye guys recommend it or not? How much of a disadvantage would you say the reflectivness is? would it make you re consider if you were buying again

I'd definitely recommend it. I'm just pointing out something that needs to be considered depending on your preferences and working environment.

Screen is 15.4" AFAIK. I would definitely recommend Truelife. As Clubman said, we're just pointing out it is reflective.
