Roy Junior experiencing major problems with new Creative Z Vision M.....

Went onto website and worked through troubleshooting links etc. Then mailed the contact mailing address explaining what we did - they sent a mail back telling us to do what we'd already done.

Sent them back a further note and was tol;d "Has the latest Windows service pack 2 been installed and all background applications been disabled? Do refer to the below useful link as well. http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=3&sid=10053
" MTP players not recognized in Windows XP "

In case if you need any clarification, please do not hesitate to contact
us."

Seem like we're getting the runaround here and that from other sites the problem were experiencing is common enough. Really would like to talk to someone on the phone but their website seems to rule that out and make it as painful as possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Roy

Would you believe it but my brother recently bought a zen vision M, and is suffering the same problem, as it seems, are a good chunk of the people bought them. Searches on google reveal many people in the same boat.

The problem we have is well put by

"[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]MP3 player not detected in Windows Media Player 10 or Creative Media Explorer
PlaysForSure devices such as Creative Zen Micro, Zen Vision or others are properly detected, and reported "working properly" in Device Manager, however, Windows Media Player, Creative Media Explorer, or other PlaysForSure compatible applications fail to detect these devices."

Some tips given about halfway down this page, [broken link removed]

None of the tips I've found online so far have worked for us. Keep trucking.

I had a problem with my Creative Zen before and I was able to talk to someone and they were very helpful but I'm not sure where I got the number from.

I've just done a search in the phone book and this comes up for there Dublin base - If you ring that number they can probably put you through to customer support

Thanks very much lads... I'll try both of them.

Roy

Try disconnecting any other USB devices and then plug in the Vision:M.
Mine was working fine until I recently installed a LogiTech webcam and then suddenly my Vision:M was an unrecognised device. I tried all the stuff on Creative's site but nothing helped. Started removing other devices and hey presto, once the webcam was unplugged my Zen was found. Not sure what causes this but it also seems to effect my USB-TV tuner.

AFAIK they are based in Blanchardstown so you could try directory enquiries and give them a ring and see if they can put you through to somebody who will help
