Stacking Washer and Dryer

I've a small utility room, so need to look at stacking my dryer above the washer, initially we were looking at getting a carpenter in to build some shelving to support it, until someone mentioned that there are racks out there specifically for stacking.
Doing a surf around I've found the product on the attached link (but they are US and surprised to discover that there is an 'abroad' so don't ship overseas), so was wondering if anyone has come across anything similar in Ireland or UK?

my aunt has one and as far as I know she bought it in Ireland (Dublin area)... not sure where... I will try to find out and revert

Don't forget that if your dryer is conventional (designed for standing upright with controls up top) and you decide to mount it on the wall that you will need to do so upside down! A friend in Oz mounted her dryer beautifully on the wall but needed a ladder every time she wanted to turn it on or off.....Have you checked with the dryer manufacturer as I'm pretty sure that I bought one once that came with the necessary mounting parts (that was in Oz though).

we 'stack' proofed it as much as we can, made sure the filter and water (its a condenser) are at the bottom for easy access, and height wise that the dial is easily accessible (we're both over 5'8" so that helps).
Gianni it would be great if you could find out from her.

thanks

Have you tried ring somewhere like DID or Discount Electric to see if they can give you any advice on stacking?

We have a bosch washer and drier with a stacking kit, basically its just a frame that sits on top of the washer that the drier fits into. We bought it in a standard electrical retailers. You probably need to have the washer and drier by the same manufacturer for this to work .

I just put my drier on top of the washer..... no gap or support or anything..

Been okay for over 2 years - am I missing something?

We have the same for Miele machines. It has a pull out shelf built into it where you can put the laundry basket when unloading the drier. We bought it from Miele with the washer and drier many moons ago.
