Naval tax credit to be extended to 2029

Only fair, it's shocking to think that some military families have to resort to social welfare supports. We think we're a great little country punching above its weight, etc., but under-appreciate the sacrifice of those families as their loved ones head off to conflict zones on UN duty.

I know nothing about this area but are the supports related to universal benefits, like child benefits, rather than means-tested payments that they fall under income thresholds for?

Means-tested social welfare supports, as far as I recall. It was a hot issue a few years back which, alongside being unable to crew naval vessels, led to this credit being introduced.
