I normally pay off CC each month, if its used. This month, i was dealing with a replacement credit card, and long story short i completely forgot about paying it.

I missed the minimum payment yesterday, and got the late fee.

I paid it today but heard rumours that since 2019, you can't miss even one payment by a day and it will be on my CCR.

Can anyone shed any light? I know it sounds petty but its always the little things that spiral in loan applications.

Have you tried ringing the bank and see what they have to say? Tell them about your worries on the CCR.

Something similar happened to me some years ago as I always pay the card on time. I had read on AAM that if you ring them and explain that it was an unusual event and ask for the late fee to be removed which they agreed to do. They may well say that it can only be reversed and not removed but even that might help. Its worth a try.

There are also some previous AAM threads on this subject here

Was told previously that banks report at the end of the month and once its in good standing by then, you are fine.

I don’t know the answer to your question but going forward would it be worth having a direct debit in place ?
If I forget to pay the credit card, my direct debit for the minimum payment amount goes through, that saves penalty's or any negative impact on my credit rating.
