My son is in receipt of disability allowance and ive recently opened a bank account for him.
I read somewhere that theres an exemption for DIRT tax and I found this info on revenue site.

Has anyone any experience of submitting this? Do i apply on my sons behalf or does he submit application?

His account is a special needs account and I can make lodgements and withdrawals etc . Thank you

If your named on the account you
Can submit it.
If not he can submit it.
Ok thank you. Its a special needs account and im down as person responsible for his finances (not sure if im qording that properly) but the letter with debit card had both our names on it but debit card is in my name to support me having access.
Should i be able to submit it and give my sons PPSN details etc?

Yes.the account should be set up as Dirt exempt in the first place.
Both bank & and yourself on behalf of your child should pass the special needs account details over too revenue too sort out.
