Very difficult to contact Avant?

Hi,

I rang Avant mortgages on the 12th of August and the guy there said he'd call me back in a few days. I'm still waiting on the call.

I've been trying to contact Avant mortgages but having no luck. The number i'm calling is 0818 274 089. Its putting me through to a message box that is full.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah same for me, they were supposed to call me back but haven't yet, they also haven't yet replied to my email. My query to them was about making an overpayment, but reducing the term remaining rather than reducing the monthly repayments, which seems to be the default at the moment. they did say during the call a lot of people have asked them can they reduce the term so hopefully they will make that option available soon.

Once I make the overpayment I want to switch from a 5 year fixed to 15 year fixed mortgage. I had asked them on a call previously about this but the guy I spoke to said I would have to pay the 2% breakout fee. I dont want to do that as i would be paying them a higher interest rate if I moved to a 15 year rate, so dont want to pay them 2% on top of that. Its within their interests to let me break out of the 5 year so hopefully they will allow this soon. I think because the lifetime mortgages product is so new they just havent considered the possibility that existing customers on the 3, 5 or 7 year fixed rates would want to move to the lifetime mortgages.

I've been trying to switch up for over a couple of months now and still no agent from Avant calling me back. I spoke to a customer service representative today and got the same story. They need to check with someone else and get back to me. I spoke to my financial broker who said that I should file a complaint against them if they don't give me answers soon. There is no mortgage complaint telephone line that I can contact. Only a personal loan complaint address and phone number. Does anyone on here know the number? I am going to write to the Ombudsman as I feel there is an overall reluctance to deal with my query.
 
No luck in getting anywhere with Avant. Does anyone know an address and/or contact number for complaints? I have been looking to switch since the summer and I think that they are kicking the can down the road. I rang 0818 409 511, but it seems to be only connected to day to day banking and credit cards. There is an office in Shannon, but I think once again its set up to service the cards and bank accounts only.

Yes, I got onto him and he said you may have to write in a letter of complaint if it continues. That was on the 14th of October. He has since left that position as I emailed this afternoon and was told he no longer works for the broker Company. I was going to ask him the address to write my letter of complaint to as I don't want to go on another wild goose chase. But that ship has sailed so if anyone on here knows an address that will manage a complaint regarding mortgages in Avant then I'd appreciate it.
