Old pensions

I am trying to assist someone to track down any pensions they might hold from previous employment. Apart from the name of the company, they have very little detail. I assume that HR for the companies is the starting point unless anyone here has any other guidance?

The Pensions Authority are the place to go. they have a record of all company pensions and who the administrator is. They helped me recently and were brilliant. If only I'd thought of it years ago, I could have saved myself a load of hassle.

I made this query recently on behalf of a relative and they would only deal with the pension holder personally.

An email address is just an email address, but they did insist on this......
