I'd like to switch to BOI to avail of their cash back offer. Over the summer my husband took two months of unpaid parental leave. Would this affect our application and ability to switch? Thanks

NiceToKnow - it shouldn't impact. They'll request loads of paperwork and part of that is your husband's pay slips for the last 6 months (or so) and also the p60. If there are differences in the take home pay over the months, you can explain it was due to parental leave. Similar situation myself in applying for a mortgage with unpaid parental leave - once they knew what the reason for the difference, it didn't affect the application.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Friend applied to BOI recently. Her husband was taking 1 day a week parental leave most weeks. They reduced his salary by 20%. You might have to wait until you have 2 months payslips showing full salary
