BMW Service Pack Inclusive - Value?

Can anybody comment on the value of purchasing a BMW service pack [broken link removed] ?

I have the option of purchasing a service pack and would like a comment on the merits or lack of! Anybody have experience?

Personally, I've never had a BMW, but my mate said he found the servicing costs on his 520 very high. He wished he had bought the service pack.
no connection to BMW but willing to accept one, true story.

Only if you plan on keeping the car for many years and at that change the oil / filter every year, I've had the service pack but would not buy one again, frankly the service intervals are too long, no problem if you get rid whilst car is still in warranty, it tends to be post warranty that issues arise, google BMW timing chain issue as an example.
