When do i need to have my NCT test done by

Hi
I have a 2010 car that I believe is due for its 1st NCT this year (2014)

How do I know when I need to have the NCT done by. I know that you can get your car NCT 6 months in advance of its due date for NCT but I don't know when my car is due for NCT or needs to be NCT tested by?

Will I get a letter in the post regarding this giving this information?

The tax is due for renewal in February - does the NCT have to be done for the tax renewal date?

The vehicle registration cert indicates that date of 1st licencing in Ireland for the vehicle was July 2010. Does the NCT have to be done by July 2014 aligning with anniversary of vehicle registration

Yes, on or before the anniversary of its first registration. See the FAQ section on nct.ie for more info.

I think you can do it a few months in advance. 3 if I remember right.
