have to get a new engine in my car.... do i need to inform my ins co. when this is done for any reason? and do i need to get a new vehicle reg cert - as the eng no. will be different???

Changed engine in a car quite a few years ago and had to have numbers updated in Motor Tax office.
Advised insurance too but they said it wasn't necessary as it was a like for like swap - not an upgrade or modification!

Personally, if it was me in the situation, I would ring the insurance company, explain the situation to them (like for like replacement), get confirmation from them that they are ok with it...

I hav already contacted them to let them know the situation.... they mentioned nothing about being ok or not ok about it? should i call again???????

As you have contacted them & gave them the details, then from your perspective, you did what was required of you.

They should have highlighted any concerns from their side on this. I don't think another call is required.

If you want to be sure, put it in writing and send them a letter. That way you can retain a copy for your records.
