Skoda Octavia Key

Good Morning.I have a Skoda Octavia 2010 model and the key button will not apply central locking .I must insert key in door to lock manually.Battery in key is ok.Anyone help/know a fix ?

Does manually using the key locks all doors? If so, we can probably rule the above out.

No this is just a problem with the innards of the key.

First stop is the cars manual, it should tell you how to reprogrammed the key,if that's what the problem is its a simple process. Failing that if there is a button broken or one of the solders broken on the circuit board inside its easy to solder it back on. You can get a kit on eBay which gives you the key fob, 2 buttons and a new battery so you can switch the innards over. Have repaired a few keys for friends with these kits and they are fantastic and cost about a tenner

Have you had your car serviced recently. Perhaps the garage de-coded the key
