hi,
I wanted to invest in HSBC FTSE AS tracker fund, however, they said ''we are unable to offer
investments to residents of Republic of Ireland due to cross border
marketing regulations set out by your government.''

?

Does that mean I have to go through Irish broker like Goodbody, Dolmen etc?

For a lump sum investment, rather than monthly

If the product is no authorized by the regulators for sale in Ireland, then it does not matter who you go to, they will not be able to sell it to you. You need to find an equivalent product that is authorized for sale here. I expect this not the first time this has happened, so perhaps they are able to suggest an alternative to you.

There are plenty of FTSE All-Share tracking ETFs that you can buy in Ireland via a stockbroker. Example - DB X-trackers FTSE All Share Retail.
