Hi all,

Is there any method of buying and holding currency similar to share transactions?
Spread betting too volatile and long term profitable positions wiped out due to short term volatility.
Any advice will be appreciated
 
Don't know what type of trading you want to do, but would currencyfair be of any use to you?
 
Thanks ravima but think currency fair isn't what I'm after..will check it out again though..thought their rates for purchasing/transferring foreign currency didn't reflect the up to date forex rates

I think they quote 1% margin or less for currency trading with spread betting but you can also bet using 100% margin and have your position fully covered if you have the full value of your bet in your account.
Spread betting is dead safe then, you more or less can't be wiped out. Technically you can be knocked out if you are short and the currency price more than doubles against you.
 
Thanks richinspirit but will have to agree to differ with you regarding the 'safety' aspect of spread betting
