Just wondering how many tolls from Tallaght to Castlepollard Westmeath, and is there a route to avoid without adding on huge mileage, cheers

there's only one toll, the one at Enfield on the M4

You could come off the M4 at Kilcock and back on again after Kinegad. It wouldnt add much (if any) mileage, but you would have about 15/20 miles of bad-ish roads. In fairness they are not all that bad, it is the old N4 route.

Why use the M4 with its more crowded road and dear 2.80 toll.

From nearby Collinstown I go thru Delvin and Athboy and join the M3 and there's only one toll of 1.40 (Mind you if I joined one exit further north I'd pay another 1.40.)

+ the M50 toll if you are coming from Tallaght......

No toll on M50 coming from Tallaght

If you join the M50 from the M3/N3 and go to Tallaght you do cross the toll bridge so you'd end up paying both tolls. Of course you could turn off the N3 at Clonee and take the back roads to Lucan thereby avoiding the M50 toll.
