Hotel near NEC Birmingham

Can anyone recommend a good reasonable priced hotel with good food near the NEC in Birmingham.

As the train station is on the NEC/Airport site, I do not mind if I have to take a short train ride provided the hotel is within a short walk of the station at the other end.

I stayed at the Etap hotel at the airport when I visited the NEC recently. Very cheap, reasonabkle room but not much food. Easy link into Brum for any number of curry houses etc.
