We recently installed a buru insert stove and were told that there maybe an unplesent odour as it was commisoned. It is now two months later and we are haveing a problem with dry mouths and throat has anyone had same problem or maybe give some advice

Dry mouth & throat is consistent with flue leakage. Do not use the stove again until it is tested and certified to be safe. Others symptoms are headaches & nausea. Carbon monoxide is a odourless and colourless. Put a carbon monoxide detection alarm close to the stove.

why not invest in a CO2 alarm, but as said above you should get the installer back to test and re-certify

(I've certainly no affiliation with the esb btw)

have a co2 alarm fixed in hall, but will go back today and try to get someone from boru to see the setup as have had back the installer allready

Absolutly no point detecting Carbon Dioxide (CO2) it is Carbon Monoxide (CO) that is the killer and this is what you need to detect the presence of.

just had a call from boru rep to say they will call sometime over next few days to look at stove and have been back to installer so am waiting to see what problem is.I have been told it may not have been sealed right, hope it is sorted as all were ill after lighting it last evening so will not use it for present
