Stoves and UFH

Evening all!

With the wind howling outside, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a solid fuel stove with a back boiler and use it to heat under floor heating instead of radiators?

We're in the planning permission phase of a new build - so it could be a while before I get to use the information - but we are sold on UFH but would also like a stove to burn wood (we're surrounded with the stuff!) so thought it might kill two birdies with the one stone so to speak!

The stove will need to heat a buffer tank and in turn the underfloor circuits will be fed from this buffer. The stove will require it's own independant open primary gravity circuit. The heating of this buffer may be supplemented with solar panels and an oil/gas boiler.

Spot on. This is the only way that a stove can heat UFH. Just don't oversize the buffer tank.
