How to remove notice from main screen

Hi , Each time I log on, there is a list on the screen of "Most visited".
Is there anyway of removing this?

Log onto what? Windows I presume but what version? And is it the OS or an application displaying this "most visited" [what?] message? What is the exact wording of the message(s)? Need more info.

Windows 7 ClubMan, which is the OP system on my laptop.

Each time I open a new tab, the screen shows " most visited " sites and lists some of the sites I have most visited.

And "Recently closed" sites which shows a list of some of the sites I have visited and recently closed.

So you mean Internet Explorer [v9 I guess?]? If so then Google "Internet explorer" and "remove" or "disable" and "most visited" and you will almost certainly find the answer.

Same instructions as above except substitute "Google Chrome" for "Internet Explorer".

Thanks ClubMan, having "googled" the issue, I came across this;

Then it turns out, all I had to do was click an "X" that was at the end of the line of "most visited" and" Recently closed" !!
However,in my defence, the "X" wasn't visible until I hovered over the end of the line..
