It was quite a shock to see hundrends of euro deducted from my ulster bank creidt card account and some payments back in. I urgently rang the fraud line only to be told this is some sort of customer loyalty nonsense related to 0% interest on a new card.

Now in fairness I did get some letter with a new card but these are a dime a dozen along with booklets, ads etc etc

These are all a bit irrelevant as I aim to pay the entire bill on time

Turns out it will all balance out but what I joke. I will still need some persuasion not to contact the financial regulator

I know when it happened on my card I was surprised to see it as well, however in my case the credit and debits all went in and out on the same day so I'm assuming there would be no additional interest charge(albeit I'll be checking this later on in the month). If there is no customer impact, why contact the regualtor.?

It wasn't communicated very well by UB,and given that they have to recall a lot of the new credit cards they've issued as well, since the chip is in the wrong place, they seem to have made a complete horses rear end of all of this

Maybe my experience was based upon checking it online, the debits far exceeded the credits. Maybe the customer impact is only the shock of this and thinking for a half an hour that your account is been cleaned out!
