Need to get in touch with a good investment adviser

I realise there can be no adverts here but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

We are expatriates. We have a significant nest egg, but all in cash at the moment. We have few investments (and are very cautious having been burnt previously), have minimal retirement funds. We need completely impartial advice about investing for our children and our retirement.

I would appreciate any help in this matter.

As you say, people can't advertise on here but there are couple of people on here who have proven their worth on AAm over the years. I am sure a read through the 'Investment' forum will unearth them. The IFSRA website has lists of advisors, tied and independent but their is no recommendation with that. You could post your info on here and see what responses you get! Slim

I'm in the same boat, I'm coming into some cash, and need professional advice... this was the best thread I found on here, http://www.askaboutmoney.com/showthread.php?t=153381&highlight=Independent+Financial+Advice

It's best to go with an advisor who doesn't work on commission... there's some advisors recommended in that thread, that don't work off comission.

I'm thinking about these guys, http://www.investrcentre.com/key_steps_to_investment_success/

I think it might be an idea to name drop AAM, and the fact that I found their link on here... and that I was warned to stay away from comission only IFA's....

I won't be coming into my cash for another 2 months, so, let me know how you get on, what ever you decide.

Good Luck!
