I have just started a new business. However, the CRO are saying that the company name I am looking for is not distinguished enough. Suppose the name I wanted to put on the company was "Irish Fibre Solutions", but now must change it to "IFS Irish Fibre Solutions", does all my future paperwork (eg letterheads, invoice headers) have to have "IFS Irish Fibre Solutions" or can I just put down "Irish Fibre Solutions" instead?

Everything must contain the full name of the Company including the word Limited. You can shorten the word Limited to Ltd.

Also, "IFS Irish Fibre Solutions" is not that much different to "Irish Fibre Solutions". The CRO may object to its use.

You can create the company with one name, then add a business name registration (€20 via the CRO) and use it for day to day operations and communications. You should use the term "Company ABC Ltd Trading as Big Bizness" in the small print on your company stationary. For more details, the CRO have a [broken link removed] and an [broken link removed].
